Met Opera Laffont New Orleans District Competition. District singers who have been chosen through the initial audition process will compete to advance to the Gulf Coast Final competition.
This event is FREE to the public. There will be no ticketing.
Vocal and musical theater students are encouraged to attend.

Met Opera Laffont Gulf Region Competition. Winners of the New Orleans, Houston, and Puerto Rico Districts will compete to advance to the Finals at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
A reception follows the competition and attendees are encouraged to contribute to the Audience Favorite award.
$10 for non-AMICI members.
FREE to: AMICI members, vocal and musical theater students and their parents, local teachers and faculty.

Verdi's Requiem
The LPO opens the 2025-2026 season in collaboration with the New Orleans Opera to perform Guiseppe Verdi's soaring and dramatic Requiem, his personal statement of both grief and cultural pride, inspired by the deaths of two Italian artists, composer Gioachino Rossini and writer Alessandro Manzoni.

AMICI Gala: Emily Treigle Solo Concert
A New Orleans native and Grand Finals Winner of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, mezzo-soprano Emily Treigle is regarded as "endlessly watchable and a consummate musician." She will be performing a selection of opera arias and art songs. Carol Rausch, Director of the Loyola Opera Theatre, will be the collaborative pianist.
This Spring, Ms. Treigle made her international debut with the Canadian Opera Company as Filipyevna in Eugene Onegin and Lucia in Cavalleria Rusticana and in December of 2025 she will make her Metropolitan Opera debut as the Second Lady in The Magic Flute.
She will star in the New Orleans Opera’s Dialogues of the Carmelites with her mother, Phyllis Treigle, during the 2026 festival.
Tickets include a champagne reception in the Parish Hall immediately following the concert.
